First Impressions: Far Cry 2

I picked up Far Cry 2 about 2 days ago. As soon as I put it in my system I was having loads of fun. Until I started to notice some of the quirks the game has.

Far Cry 2 is a good game don't get me wrong. But the weird thing with this game is that what it does good it does amazing, but what it does bad makes me want to snap a controller. The game itself is beautiful. It has amazing landscapes and the environments natural switch from one to another while your traveling through the seemingly endless world. The day and night cycle is impressive. Especially when you go into your safe house and watch the day go by in fast forward and seeing all the shadow changes and such. Having buddies in the game make it more fun so when you eventually die in the game sometimes instead of getting the game over screen you will get a nice little cut scene of your buddy saving you from the battlefield and dragging you to safety. The weapons are all nice looking and have a great feel to them. But this is where the negativity starts.

The weapons in this game get rusty over time causing the weapons to jam and backfire. Enemies never seem to have this problem though. They just shoot full auto hitting you with every bullet the shoot but when you kill them and pick up their weapons it is only usable for about a minute if that. The enemies in Far Cry also seem to have metal for skin because they can take a full clip of ammo sometimes and not die. Another thing is that the AI in this game goes from retarded to genius in like a blink of an eye. Say when you are sniping from a tower and they see you with there vision like that have binoculars strapped to there eyes or something, they will get in a car.... but not know how to drive it. They will be running into houses signs and even their own enemies.

Even with those complaints I am still enjoying the game it just seems I would be enjoying it a lot more if they just had more time to work on the game and get rid of these quirks. Look for a full review soon.
