A Total Melvin's Musical Review: Day 3

Okay, so I've missed a few days. This was definitely harder than I thought. Anyway, no need to stop now. Let's move on.

Wild Nation Mountain by Blitzen Trapper


I was going to do another band here at first, named Cloud Cult. I think the album was Aurora Borealis. I'll probably be able to tackle that one another day. For now, it's onto Blitzen Trapper!

It's pretty damn difficult to pin point the genre here. It's definitely got country vibe, but a lot of the songs have psychedelic pop incorporated into them. Songs rarely keep the same pace or sound the same for very long. It's not a bad thing at all - many of the songs benefit from this, for sure. It's a pretty slick record.

I wasn't a fan of all the tunes, but there were some stand outs: "Wild Mountain Nation", "Miss Spiritual Tramp", and "Country Caravan" among a couple others. It may not be your thing, but give it a shot. You might be surprised.
